Abe Lincoln is rolling over in his grave today

A detailed illustration of Abraham Lincoln in a black suit and red bow tie, with his upper body emerging from a hole in the ground, as if drafted by an artist's auto tool. The surrounding scene features grassy fields, a few bare trees, and a lightly clouded sky.

I have some good friends who are staunch conservatives. They prize individual liberty, traditional values, respect for the rule of law, and fiscal conservatism. Funny, I agree about all those things. But then they blindly support Trump. Why?

What were the traditional values upheld by Republicans like Lincoln, McCain, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Theodore Roosevelt? These men valued integrity, honor, and service over self. They championed limited government, fiscal responsibility, and respect for democratic principles—values Trump seems to have tossed aside for personal gain.

Trump is the wrong guy for the job, period. Is he evil? Probably not. But is he a reckless, lying buffoon? Absolutely. The guy treats truth like it’s optional, and if you repeat a lie enough times, it magically becomes reality. Sorry, that’s not how leadership works. Character matters—and his? Well, it’s missing in action.

And Honest Abe is not happy!
