Rio Nido post office project and community efforts
In Rio Nido, locals are coming together for a big cause: bringing back the Rio Nido Post Office. This effort, led by the Friends of Rio Nido and the Rio Nido Homeowners Association, is all about community — reconnecting with a part of the town’s history and each other.
The Rio Nido Post Office has been around for over 100 years. When it closed suddenly in 2017, it was a big loss. The decision came quickly, without giving people a chance to weigh in, and left everyone without a local mail spot.
The Friends of Rio Nido and the Rio Nido Homeowners Association didn’t just let it go; they fought to bring it back. Their hard work led to an agreement with the USPS to start mail service again, this time at the Rio Nido Fire Station.
Bringing back the post office is a sign of the community’s strength and commitment to looking out for each other. Thanks to everyone’s hard work and support, we’re not just getting our mail back; we’re bringing our community closer together.
